I can't imagine this would be a problem on Fidor's end, but I think you will not be able to verify the fidor account with coinbase as they require the sending account to be verified by first sending micropayments to the account.

Since fidor uk accounts can only SEND, but not RECEIVE SEPA transfers, I think you will find it's not possible to verify the account with coinbase, and thus not possible to send money to coinbase from fidor.

It will work with other exchanges such as kraken and bitstamp and perhaps if you contact coinbase customer support and explain the situation they might be able to verify the account some other way?

I'm not actually on duty here until Saturday, so if there are any relevant bitcoin related questions please feel free to pm me or post anyway, though I can't give an eta on how long it will take me to reply (unless its Saturday and I'm on my shift, and then it'll be within 5-10 minutes normally).

Leaving you with;

http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/bitstampUSD#rg180ztgSzm1g10zm2g25zv

Bitcoin at its 2nd highest value ever. Which is really THE highest value ever (as the previous 2013/mtgox value was a distorted truth due to the Willy boy and other shenanigans).

Hi all,

This question is probably aimed at Joel or the Fidor customer service team but any help appreciated.

Firstly, just wanted to say that I am super glad there is a bank now in the UK that is crypto currency friendly, it is very refreshing and I look forward to using Fidor's products as they expand.

I was after some help as I'm in the process of opening up a Fidor current account. I intend to use it mainly for normal banking activities but on very rare occasions (once a quarter or to even once every few years), I would want to use it to buy bitcoins/altcoins.

I was after some help as I'm in the process of opening up a Fidor current account. I intend to use it mainly for normal banking activities but on very rare occasions (once a quarter or to even once every few years), I would want to use it to buy bitcoins/altcoins.

As some of you are probably aware, there is a Bitcoin ETF that is going through SEC approval in the US and this ruling is due to take place before 11th March.

I was looking to possibly position myself on an altcoin for £5000 before this happened. I'm conscious though that I would have a brand new account then almost immediately, £5k is transferred in from my savings account then out to Coinbase.

Will this be a problem for Fidor if I was to do this? I'm aware of Fidor closing people's accounts at their own discretion due to not meeting their compliance, I just don't want to be one of those people as I want to keep a longterm relationship with Fidor and its unfortunate that a major cryptocurrency event is happening literally weeks away!

Please let me know if this transaction is fine with Fidor or if I need to speak to Customer Support directly. I don't intend on doing any more cryptocurrency transactions (or any other type) of this amount for a good while, probably for at least a year (as my wife will kill me).

Thanks
