"...solve the problem of multiple bonus transactions clogging up bank statements." that is a great point. I can't stand have bonus entries on my statement every few days and would prefer the neatness of getting it once a month

Joel - frankly, you should not have to fund out of your own pocket!

Maybe we are looking at incentivisation in the wrong way - right now it is near instantaneous reward for various types of comment. As MIROW states, this only encourages participation to maximise reward and weights community banter to how the incentives are weighted. Perhaps what should be rewarded is persistent participation? If for example, the karma algorithm for each community member could be changed up or down on a monthly basis to reflect participation for a given month, and then a monthly incentive awarded based on the different karma "tiers"? This could also neatly solve the problem of multiple bonus transactions…

I did start a few over the last half year, but my last events I was giving money prizes out from my own money, which I couldn't keep doing.

So apologies from my end for not running similar competitions anymore.

I beleive our former community manager did give some community users mugs and memory sticks as a reward but that was many months ago now and it is high time we had another competition or incentive.

Of course, the situation is not helped by the fact that moderator-initiated efforts seem to have no follow through:

"Boost your karma and win amazing gifts!

From MIROW on 18.09.2016 at 08:29

Are you an active community member or a new user?

No matter what, you can now answer or ask financial questions or rate products.

Among all participants who raise their karma through their activity in the Fidor Smart community between 12/09/2016 and 02/10/2016, we will pick 6 winners who will win Fidor branded merchandise, such as Fidor mugs."

Did anyone win anything?

DO NOT TRY AND SEND MONEY TO YOUR ACCOUNT BY CHAPS.

While Fidor have been testing BACS and CHAPS these have not yet been fully enabled.

Customers will be advised when these are available.

Any funds sent this way may be delayed and then returned to sender.

CURRENTLY ONLY PAYMENTS BY THE FASTER PAYMENTS SCHEME ARE ACCEPTED
