So I can't save recipient's payment details which is something I consider so basic that not having it working in ridiculous. I also can't accept payments from abroad, so this is really on the level of a teenager's savings account. What a waste of time!

FIDOR has extremely poor level of security at the moment

FIDOR HAS POOR SECURITY AT PRESENT:

Can you please introduce 2 Factor Authenticator.

Using SMS for verification is asking for trouble. Just look online to see how people have had hackers take their numbers from telephone companies to access their accounts.

WAKE UP FIDOR

If it is Norton Symantec I can have a keyfob or a card in my wallet so just go out with my debit card. With Google I would need my phone on me and I would need the battery not flat. That I see as a huge pain. A deal breaker for me.

IETF TOTP it is a STANDARD, anything else is unacceptable, unless it is other standards, such as FIDO U2F, FIDO UAF etc.

Anything custom, and I simply turn it off.

mwri wrote on 04.10.2017 at 11:02

Nobody is forcing anybody to use Google or Authy (I do not want locked into Authy).

With IETF TOTP, you can use ANY authenticator app you want.

I use FreeOTP becuase I have the source code and it is simple, and nice. You can use Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator , whatever you want with IETF STANDARDS.

Email formatting

Every time I use my card for a payment, I immediately receive an email about it. That's brilliant - in case someone else uses my card, I know immediately and I can block it.

You can make it even better quite easily:

- (very simple to do) Improve email formatting. Specifically the amount and merchant name to be in bold for example. It would allow me to read the email much easily.

- Also send emails for declined transactions. It would allow me to understand why the transaction has been declined and also to become aware of any unsuccessful try to use my card details by an unauthorised person.

Make it an option for people so they can choose to use Google Authenitication for logon and for sending funds. Option so people can choose. Fidor you are suppose to be a bank.

SMS is very poor security

Partnership with FAM Global to provide cryptocurrency

I understand you have a partnership with bitocin.de to complete exchanges and allow people to hold crypto but have only started listing small startup investments through seedrs or nutmeg, this will not interfere with any of them.

They provide brokerage so you do not need to in the UK with a £100 minimum and options to regularly top up their fund or invest a larger sum or withdraw.

FAM Global has a transparent and fair fee structure that lets people see exactly how much they're paying depending on what type of cryptocurrency they are exposed to. Personal assistance and advice is available for clients. Fast withdrawals are possible, direct to fidor; being outside of the Faster Payments Network this gives fidor the option of having faster payments through the blockchain.

Can be developed in ways which allow either both cryptocurrency asset purchase management and disposal or just management and liquidation. Exposure to risk is selected by customer, i.e. the cryptocurrency asset can be stored off of an exchange, offline, in a cold storage vault; minimal fees and the option to withdraw as cryptocurrency or liquidate quickly. Having no single point of failure clients cryptocurrency assets are 100% safe if stored in the vault.

*Outside of the BACS network - Apologies, Fidor has some element of Faster Payment Network it just seems to be processed slowly.

Let's expand investment beyond start up companies.

I use my mobile all the time and that is the problem. Easy for those sitting at a desk all day long to recharge or top up their phone. I get up around 7am and don't go to bed until 2am and am often out all day long on a train or bus and then walking around. no way can my smartphones batteries last all day long and by lunchtime they are nearly flat and turn themselves off. I will only be happy to rely on mobile when their manufacturers pair them with batteries that can take a heavy use non stop around the clock with recharge only needed every 48 hours not every 7 or 8 hours

Why would someone downvote? A bit concerning...
I hope they don't work for Fidor!

We need 2FA now!

MIROW wrote on 04.10.2017 at 09:04

because 2FA is a real pain if you need to carry a card reader, number generator, code list, or have to use a phone or mobile app for codes. Some people just want to be free to use their card without dragging their phone around or carrying a device. Some want to access banking on a desktop, a laptop or tablet without needing a phone or when their phone battery is dead. Most 2FA implementations add enough friction to put people off accessing that account and even force people to change banks to escape the curse of 2FA

Verification

So Ive opened a Fidor account.....and now all I need is verification...unfortunately I appear to be caught in some kind of banal loop!!
Every time I think Im getting close to the end of the queue, I get 'Verification Failed' please try again or use an alternative method....
Only know one at Fidor is willing to share what that alternative method might be??
I mean you start in the queue at about 99 each time, after an hr or so you make it to 30, maybe 26 and pop, you right back where you started...far from seamless, very irritating and a waste of time, should I spend a few hrs a day desperately looking at this little window hoping that I might one day get verified? or should I just throw the towel in now?
Please someone advise......

Due to personal circumstances I frequently have Euro banknotes here in the UK.

If Fidor could accept deposits (insured postal) into Euro accounts for UK customers it would make them even more unique and versatile in the UK banking marketplace.

Kind regards,

There are banks that offer "automatic" foreign exchange accounts which can prove very useful for customers if they are in Europe or US Etc.

You could move your money around at will and when in Europe or US automatically withdraw / debit from the foreign exchange account you have.

EURO
USD

To grow Fidor Bank why not offer customers the opportunity to move their Self Invested Pension Plans to Fidor?

Offer low risk and higher risk plans?

High risk for example a new SIPP fund which includes investment in cryptocurrency
